reinvent yourself

One of my favorite taglines for Beautoxetc is “empty nesters and reinventers”. We all know what it means to be an “empty nester”. But what exactly is a “reinventer”?
Despite the fact that it is not recognized as an actual word (my spellcheck stubbornly keeps trying to change it to something else), “reinventer” carries great meaning in the lives of all of us.
We were born for reinvention – our lives are not static but fluid. Phases of adulthood – starting careers, raising and launching families, moving up the corporate ladder, changing jobs, careers, locations, passions, hobbies, and friend groups, getting married or becoming single – are the realities of our lives. We are happier when we are moving forward, making progress, taking on new challenges, leaving the past behind in some cases, learning, growing, changing and reinventing!
I am referring to those of us who reinvent later in life. Julia Child did not write her first cookbook until she was 50, Betty White did not become an acting icon until age 51, and
Vera Wang was a journalist before entering fashion at age 40. J.K. Rowling was a single mom scraping to get by before launching the first Harry Potter book at age 45, Ray Kroc spent his career as a milkshake-device salesman before buying McDonald’s at age 52, and Laura Ingalls Wilder published the first “Little House on the Prairie” book (which became the basis for the TV show) at age 65.
Reinventing is not easy – status quo is easier. It takes resilience (out with the old and in with the new takes energy and effort), persistence – (there WILL be roadblocks along the way), and renewal – (you must refresh how you view yourself and embrace the art of aging gracefully).
They say that 60 is the new 40, and 50 is the new 30. People are living and working longer. At Beautoxetc, we are in the business of helping women and men put their best face forward.
Cosmetic dermatology has become mainstream – aging gracefully is not only possible but awesome! Embrace this exciting time in your life – let us help you put YOUR best face forward.
